Why an overnight operator's support lives where its passengers already are

Why an overnight operator's support lives where its passengers already are

A traveller stranded at a service station at one in the morning is not going to install an app or find a contact form. They will open the messaging app already on the phone, already logged in, already working on whatever network the coach is passing through.

A business account is not a personal account

Companies reach people through a verified public account with its own name, mark and description, and a person has to follow or message it first. There is no way to appear in a stranger's chat list uninvited, which is exactly why people trust the ones that are there.

The reply window is a rule, not a guideline

A business can answer freely for a period after the customer's last message; after that only a pre-approved template can restart the thread. It is the same discipline every mature messaging channel enforces, and it makes the first reply matter more than the fifth.

Structured replies beat paragraphs

The channel carries buttons and quick replies, so 'what happened' becomes three taps rather than three sentences in a language the passenger may be typing in as their second or third.

The preview on the home page

A preview: the Viber thread is drawn in this site's own CSS. No public account is connected and nothing here reaches Viber.

The device drawn there is this site's own CSS — a header, a composer and a screen — and the screen is a SLOT. When you tap one of the quick replies, the live assistant opens inside it and answers you there. Nothing in that frame is a scripted conversation: there is no pre-written customer turn and no canned reply, because a transcript nobody generated would be the page telling you something about the product that is not true.

What changes on the day the channel goes live

One field. This site serves a small configuration file with a single uri value, null today. Set it once a Viber business account exists; the CTA becomes a genuine viber:// link. The page reads it at runtime, so the same build switches from an honest preview to a working Viber link with nothing rebuilt and nothing rewritten.
